UPSC CSE 2021 Mains GS-3 Paper Analysis

UPSC CSE 2021 Mains GS-3 Paper Analysis

Mark Distribution:

1. Economy and Agriculture - 100

2. Environment and Ecology - 35

3. Science and Technology - 40

4. Internation Security - 40

5. Disaster Management - 35

Remarks:

1. Difficulty level of paper is moderate to tough

2. Little unconventional paper as questions are more factual.. Number of conceptual questions reduced compared to previous years (similar to last year)

3. Factual questions means, if you know it then you stand good chance of scoring good, but if you don't, then you loose almost all the marks.

3. Some extremely difficult questions such as comparison of GDP estimation methodology before and after 2015, technical features of s-400, difference in Global Air Quality Guidlines, etc.

4. Slight shift in economy as more questions are asked from static syllabus.

5. Environment questions are tough and unconventional.

6. Internal security and Disaster management came out to be saviours with conventional and straightforward questions.

7. Science and Technology too consisted of some surprise questions such as on Noble Prize of 2014.

8. Overall, like previous few years, this year too we can expect a low overall average score.
