Medical Science Optional Sources for UPSC CSE

Dr.Diksha Joshi AIR-19 in CSE 2021

Sources I referred to for medical science optional:

Paper I:

Anatomy: B.D.Chaurasia

Embryology: I B Singh

Physiology:A K Jain and Guyton and Hall

Biochemistry: Vasudevan

Pathology:Harsh Mohan

Pharma: KD Tripathi

FMT : college class notes

Microbiology: Baveja

Paper II :

Medicine: Mathews

Derma and Psychiatry : UPSC medico notes

Paediatrics: college class notes

Surgery : Sriram textbook of surgery

OBG: Dutta for both Obs and gyane

PSM : Park (used the one from college days itself n updated schemes from current affairs)

*I had enrolled for UPSC medico course for optional but didn’t use it except for derma n psychiatry notes and referred to only the standard books I used during MBBS times. So,for all the medicos I think  it would be best to use the same books u used in college.

*I had mostly taken a picture of the portion of the topics from the books listed above (using adobe scanner) and taken a print out of same,so as to compile all notes together.I didn’t make any notes separately except for a few topics that I thought were spread over many pages in the book or were difficult to understand(but the number of such topics is very less). Will share some of the notes so that they could be used as sample on how to make your own ones(if needed)for medical sc optional😊
