Dr Anshu Priya AIR 16 UPSC CSE 2021

Hello gyes!

This is Dr. Anshu priya with AIR 16.

We had today our prelims paper and as usual UPSC continues to surprise .

Few points to be kept in mind for future aspirants.

1.newspapers are very imp for preparation .u all should read Indian express (explained page)and the Hindu daily.

2.follow one current affairs magazine (it will help you if not in prelims at least in mains)

3.i used to read newspapers digitaly and took screenshots of most imp articles and revised that before prelims.

4.go through PYQ of last 8 years and bring out the most common themes asked by UPSC in each subject.fo eg-flora and fauna in environment ,Ashokan inscriptions ,Jainism and buddhism.

I will give you all the themes that I had segregated for prelims. I think they must be around 40 in number.

And for those of you who might have given prelims

1.keep aside your prelims paper.even though you may not clear it this year,it doesn't matter.

2.start with mains.when you holistically cover mains ,you will be also ready for prelims next year.

3.Those of you who might be at the verge of clearing prelims,do not waste your time in speculating cut off and start for this year's mains.you have very less tym.

Plz take care of your mental health.if any of you face any mental health issue, feel free to contact me.

Just off the record ,plz keep an eye on whatever projects ,food items or products the honourable PM himself promotes.

 Eg-Moringa tree,gucchi mushroom,Kashi Vishwanath,somnath,Ramanujam statue,Shankaracharya,central vistas.

For next year shankaracharya and Vishwanath temple may become imp.

Few points for CSAT.

1.it is clear that it is now a complete paper in itself.Just like you read GS daily ,you should also practise csat daily for 1 hour.

2. Do Not practise comprehension from any other source apart from UPSC PYQ.

3.Try to deduce the meaning of assumption,Inference, corollary by looking at past year papers only.

4.i do not tend to promote any coaching here. But,i had no touch with maths and hence needed some help.i had joined on line class of career launcher(Delhi) for csat.i found them useful. fortunately ,i got that course only for 1900 rupees due to some discount.

5.so Do Not HESITATE TO TAKE HELP IN CASE YOUR CSAT IS WEAK .But at the same time Do Not GO OVERBOARD with some 120 hours of csat sort of taglines.MAINTAIN A BALANCE.

Dr Anshu Priya:

My strategy for medical science.

1.is medical science a worth optional?

Yes!bcoz it is almost what you have studied in MBBS+Back up for PG+

You will be appreciated in interview+anyways being a doctor ,you cannot escape health care in interview.

2.what are the sources?

_anatomy-BDC

_physio-gyton+flow charts of ganong.

_biochem-satyanarayan

_patho-Harshamohan

_micro-ananthnarayan

_FMT-KS Narayan Reddy

_pharma-KDT/GRG sir noted

_med-mathews

_OBG/GYNE-sesadri

_pediatrics-Ghai

_CFM-short notes book of

Vivek Jain+cover national programme from GS.

Surgery-manipal's manual.

3.Role of PYQ and syllabus.

Very very imp .stick to syllabus +past 7 years paper should be on tip.

4.Role of practice.

Very imp, write past year paper .u may join a test series if possible.

It is also imp to attempt at least some papers in three hours.

5.Role of note making.

Imp.i made notes of all topics from syllabus except the gyne and obg part.

If you get readymade updated notes ,it will save time.

6.role of coaching.

Took UPSC Medicos test series only.As such any coaching is not required but you may join the notes and test series portion.

For those of you giving mains this year with medicine as optional.

1.Revise as much as you can.

2.practise PYQ -at least few questions daily.

3.10 days before mains ,give a full length test (at least one)

4.Don't forget GS/ESSAY for optional .Maintain a balance.

All the best!
