भारतीय रियासतों की एकीकरण प्रक्रिया में मुख्य प्रशासनिक मुद्दों और सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक समस्याओं तक पहुंचें।

भारतीय संघ में रियासतों का एकीकरण अभी भी देश की सबसे बड़ी राजनीतिक और प्रशासनिक चुनौतियों में से एक माना जाता है और एकीकरण के पीछे वीपी मेनन के साथ सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल थे।  रियासतों के एकीकरण में प्रशासनिक मुद्दे  : 1. रियासतें इतनी अधिक थीं कि उनकी संख्या को लेकर भी असहमति थी।  उदाहरण: एक इतिहासकार इसे 521 पर रखता है, दूसरा 565 पर।  2. राजस्थान में कई राज्य पाकिस्तान में शामिल होने के पक्ष में पाकिस्तान के साथ सीमा साझा करेंगे। 3. त्रावणकोर के शासक, हैदराबाद और भोपाल के निजाम ने राज्यों को स्वतंत्र घोषित किया।  4. भारत सरकार अधिनियम 1947 ने रियासतों को स्वतंत्र रहने का विकल्प दिया।  इस खंड ने बहुत अनिश्चितता पैदा की। 5. बड़े देशी राज्यों की अपनी रेलवे और मुद्राएं थीं, जिससे उन्हें भारत में शामिल होने पर एक स्वतंत्र रियासत बने रहने में संदेह हुआ। 6. जूनागढ़ जैसे राज्यों, जो भारत में शामिल होने वाले राज्यों से घिरे हुए थे, ने पाकिस्तान के साथ विलय के दस्तावेज पर हस्ताक्षर किए। भारतीय रियासतों की एकीकरण प्रक्रिया में सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक समस्याएं  : 1. स्व...

The integration of princely states into the Indian Union is still believed to be one of the biggest political and administrative challenges that the country faced and the man behind integration was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel along with V P Menon.  Administrative Issues in the integration of the princely states : 1. The princely states were so many that there was even a disagreement as to their number. Example: One historian puts it at 521, another at 565.  2. Several states in Rajasthan would share the border with Pakistan in favour of joining Pakistan. 3. Ruler of Travancore, Nizam of Hyderabad and Bhopal declared the states an independent one.  4. The Government of India Act 1947 gave the princely states an option to remain independent. This clause caused a lot of uncertainty. 5.
