Factors like community, culture and nation weaken the hegemony of neoliberalism today. Discuss.

Neoliberalism or neoclassical liberalism, refers to a revival of economic liberalism during 1970s. based on the concept of “night-watchman state” and reduced state intervention. However, in the 21st century, especially after 2008 Global financial crisis, there has been a debate regarding the decline of neoliberalism. The hegemony of neoliberalism has been seen in the countries like USA, UK in the form of Reaganism and Thatcherism respectively. Even the advent of globalization and its transfer to other nations has been an overwhelming factor to bring the notion of night watchman state. UPSC General Studies 4 (Ethics, Integrity and aptitude) Analysis Observations: 1. Marks distribution: Theory (13*10 =130 marks) ; Case studies ( 6*20 = 120 marks)  2. Difficulty level - Moderate  3. Paper was lengthy as usual with long paragraphs in case studies  4. Paper simpler as compared to previous year. Overall question are on expected lines.  5. Most case studies consisted of 3/4 sub questions which was useful in structuring answer in simpler ways. 6. If you are mindful enough, you'll get hint to write Q1 a and b in first case study (Q7)  7.
