भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक

 ✅ भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक का स्थापना दिवस 1 अप्रैल को भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक का स्थापना दिवस मनाया जाता है, इसकी स्थापना 1 अप्रैल, 1935 को की गयी थी। ▪️ पृष्ठभूमि : RBI से पहले, केंद्रीय बैंक के सभी कार्य इंपीरियल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (Imperial Bank of India) द्वारा किए जा रहे थे। इंपीरियल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया अधिनियम, 1920 के माध्यम से इंपीरियल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया की स्थापना 1921 में हुई थी, जिसने तीन प्रेसीडेंसी बैंकों को एक मजबूत बैंक में मिला दिया था। इस बैंक को देश के संभावित मंडी शहरों में अगले 5 वर्षों में 100 शाखाएं खोलने का निर्देश दिया गया था। इस बैंक को केंद्रीय बैंक बनाने के विचार के साथ बनाया गया था और इसे केन्द्रीय बैंक के सभी कार्यों का निर्वहन करने की अनुमति दी गई थी। मुद्रा और क्रेडिट, सार्वजनिक ऋण, सरकारी प्राप्तियां और संवितरण, प्रबंधन और प्रतिभूतियों और बांड, बैंकरों के बैंक आदि का कार्य इसे सौंपा गया था। बाद में हिल्टन यंग कमीशन (Hilton Young Commission) ने सिफारिश की कि केंद्रीय बैंक को अलग से बनाया जाना चाहिए। ▪️ भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) : भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक अधिनियम, 1934 के प्रावधा...

🌀 Indus Water Treaty

 🌀 Indus Water Treaty Context : After a gap of more than two and half years Indian and Pakistani delegations have begun the 116th Meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission. The meeting is being viewed as part of the broader process of normalisation of bilateral ties between the two neighbours. About the Indus Water Treaty: It is a Water-Distribution Treaty, signed in Karachi on 1960, between India (Pm Jawaharlal Nehru) and Pakistan (President Ayub Khan), brokered by the World Bank. Under the treaty, India has control over water flowing in the eastern rivers– Beas, Ravi and Sutlej. Pakistan has control over the western rivers– Indus, Chenab and Jhelum. As per the treaty, the water commissioners of Pakistan and India are required to meet twice a year and arrange technical visits to projects’ sites and critical river head works. Both the sides share details of the water flow and the quantum of water being used under the treaty.
