UPSC CSE Last Night PRELIMS tips

Hi everyone , prelims is just around corner. There are few tips you need to remember.

For aspirants appearing in this prelims 2022.

Few Tips-

1) Be very calm and confident. Understand no one knows more than 45 questions in exam.

2) After that people take educated guesses and try to solve 85-90 questions.

3) One must focus on eliminating options rather than looking for right statement directly.

4) Be very aware of extreme looking statements ( only, no, none, maximum, minimum) etc.

5) This is not the time to panic at all, trust yourself and your preparation, don't overthink and don't try to overdo stuff.

6) I used to attempt 83-88 questions, one must look for their optimum attempts based on mock tests.

7) Don't give anymore mock test. Rather revise tests given earlier.

8) I used to bubble simultaneously after reaching at answer, it saves a lot of time. Don't wait until last , I personally witnessed a candidate not able to fill OMR sheet.

9) At last prelims is all about knowledge and mental strength, be calm and composed and you will get questions right and will not commit silly mistakes. Try to control your nerves in examination hall, practise deep breathing, it helped me also.

For CSAT-

1) Engineering students must focus first on maths and logical.  Try doing as many questions as possible and then comprehension.

2) others not very good at Maths can do a mix of both comprehension and maths.

3) in CSAT , comprehensions are getting tougher and inference based questions requires a lot of practise.

4) in inference based questions seemingly explicit options are not correct, so be very aware of marking those options.

Give it your all on exam day. Don't fear about anything, the almighty is with you, but he'll oy help if you are courageous enough and confident. You are no less than anyone and don't let this thought creep in your mind that xyz is scoring more in mocks and xyz studies for 12-15 hrs, it is a fact that sometimes we tend to lose our momentum by looking at other people, don't let this happen with you.

Focus on your own preparation, and believe in yourself. Bhut hi calm mind se sochke options mark Krna.

A very good luck to all. This is the time of battle, keep it up.

Utkarsh Dwivedi IAS   air-5 UPsc cse 2021 PSIR STRATEGY, NOTES AND MY ANSWER COPIES If there is one factor that has helped me achieve a single digit rank in CSE, it is my optional. I have scored 168 in paper 1 and 146 in paper 2, making it 314 in total. I have still not come across somebody with a score more than this and hence a comfortable claim can be made that this is one of the highest score this year. In this blog, I would mention what helped me achieve this score.  I DID NOT refer to any other source than Shubhra Ma'am's notes. There are two reasons to it.  Firstly, since I had reached the interview stage in all my three attempts, I never had the luxury of time to refer to any book.  Secondly, I believe Ma'am's notes are more than enough to form the core aspect of the subject's preparation. I did value addition from multiple sources so as to get an edge in my answers: I referred to copies of toppers of the respective tests that I attempted during my mains ...
