1. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have equal representation in this committee. 

2. The chairman of the committee is appointed by the Speaker from the ruling party.

Solution: 

  • In Estimates Committee all the thirty members are from Lok Sabha only. The Rajya Sabha has no representation in this committee. The Estimates Committee is the largest committee of the parliament. 
  • The chairman of the committee is appointed by the Speaker from amongst its members and he is invariably from the ruling party. 
  • All parties get due representation in the Estimates Committee. The term of office is one year. 
  • A minister cannot be elected as a member of the committee.
