International Agreements

Abraham Accord Peace (normalization) agreement signed between Israel-UAE and Israel-Bahrain, mediated by the USA, in Sept 2020. The name Abraham is to honour the patriarch of three major Abrahamic religions of the world-- Judaism, Islam and Christianity. There were only two peace deals between Israel and the Arab States in more than a quarter of a century. Egypt was the first Arab State to sign a peace deal with Israel in 1979. Jordan signed a peace pact in 1994. Uniting for Consensus Uniting for Consensus is a movement, nicknamed the Coffee Club, that developed in the 1990s in opposition to the possible expansion of permanent seats in UNSC.
